Missing Aubree

Aubree has been at Grammy's since the 4th completely loving every minute!

Riding horses, swimming, playing with new friends, going to the dinosaur park, riding a scooter....
We miss her and can't wait for her to come home!

Hair cut

You can see from the picture at the top of the blog, Karson has been growing his hair out, per his request, from the usual very short cut that I prefer on him.
But, it was getting too floppy and puffy and he was sweating constantly.

So Thursday I buzzed it off.
At first I left these very stylish "bangs" and he thought it was great and was all smiles.

About 30 seconds later it was no longer funny or great.

He was so mad at me for about 2 hours after. But it just compliments those beautiful brown eyes, that were getting hidden under the floppy hair!

For those of you who think I'm horrible(direct quote from Karson) then you can see he recovered nicely and was able to help Ryan in the garage this weekend in the 113 degree heat. Thanks to his wonderfully thoughtful Mom and his cool new haircut.

Day 3

Day 3 was pretty laid back except for my fall down my parents stairs more then likely bruising my tailbone.

The kids both stood staring at me with their mouths open in disbelieve of their mother's complete lack of coordination or grace.

Shortly after my fall, we had to get in the truck and drive to SLC, about 45 minutes away for baby Bryson's blessing.

Luckily by the time we got to church I was pretty looped up on pain killers. (although I was entrusted with holding the infant)

We did have a nice lunch at my parents after church with Lindsay, Josh and the boys.

Day 2

Happy 4th of July! The long awaiting "Day 2" has arrived.
Everyone loves a parade, right?

My Mom and I went at 10 pm the night before the parade to Main Street in Clearfield to claim our spot.
Most people had simply left blankets, quilts or chairs in the area they were saving. We had learned from past years that leaving a blanket overnight on the grass will lead to soaking wet bottoms the next morning due to sprinklers.
So my Mom with her pack-rat tendencies had some old lawnchairs that were merely the frames and nothing else, along with an old string hammack and some scotch tape. These lovely items we used to claim our spot.

You better believe no one else would even acknowledge, let alone steal our spot! I should have taken a picture of that, it was hilarious and just a little white trash-ish.

I don't know about the parades you've been to, but in Utah, they throw candy, and that is the BEST part about it!

We had a hot dog roast at my parents house after the parade.

Karson insisted he roast my hot dog for me and he did an awesome job! Unlike the burnt hot dog my Dad had previously offered as edible.

We also went mini-golfing, but the only picture I got was the girls in the snack shop while the big boys hit balls at the driving range.

I do need to bring up the fact that both my Mom and Mindi had a hole in one and the men did not.

We sat in the front yard and watched fireworks from the next city over.

The kids loved the sparklers as usual.

Day 1

This 4th of July weekend we visited my Mom in Utah. My sister Lindsay blessed her new baby, and my other sister Mindi also came. It was the first time all the sisters, husbands and kids had been together since we all had kids and husbands to force into family fun.

Because of the many pictures taken, I will entice you all with new posts of each day. I know you are all soooo excited! I cannot promise I will remember or have time for daily posts, but just keep your fingers crossed and you will too soon feel as though you were there with us. :)

Our journey began with a "quick" 7 hour drive to Northern Utah. (Don't ask Ryan, he'll say it was 10 hours)

Here is some lovely scenery from the Gorge in Arizona. This picture is to entice Mary and Leo to come down and take a drive on the bike.

Trip to Hoagle Zoo on Friday afternoon. Please concentrate only on the darling children in the center, those dorks on the ends are some crazy women that got in the picture.

These are obvious, but for those who aren't sure, this is a darling bear playing with a barrel in the pool and an elephant reaching for some grass. I didn't get a picture of the Cougar that both Aubree and Ryan thought would be a good idea to bring home as a pet. Neither were concerned with being eaten or attacked or for the lives of our smaller cats.

Luckily they are only in charge of picking out fish.







Aubree announced upon arrival that she wanted to see the lions (then she roared and scratched my arm) the very most. Unfortunately the statue below is the only lion or tiger of any sort that we saw. There were lovely exhibits making claims of tigers and lions "hiding" in the grass, but I think it's all a big rouse.

More animals apparently "hiding" were the gorillas.

All in all it was a beautiful day, not too hot and the kids had a great time.

Baby Puffer

The kids (including the 30 year old one) brought home some more new fish for our salt water tank. The same tank that has brought death to many lovely fish and much sadness to the above mentioned kids. But does that stop them!

This is our new baby puffer. I doubt he is actually a baby, but our old puffer is so huge and fat, that he looks so cute and tiny next to him.

Sleeping with the Enemy

I'm sure you're all fondly remembering the Oscar worthy performance by Julia Roberts in the same named movie (wink wink), or you are trying to figure out which one is the enemy. Those of you that know Aubree well would assume she is a tormentor of cats, thus being the enemy.
But alas! It's a trick! The cat is MY enemy! Sneezing and itchy eyes are her weapons!
Actually both Clover and Aubree are fond of one another, but I would not be as accommodating if the fur ball took my entire pillow.
