Who's Princess Leia?

When I was a little girl my mom would do my favorite braids and all though they were'nt technically the same as Princess Leia, I always pretended that they were. I tried them out on Aubree Sunday and told her they were "Princess Leia" braids and she said "Princess Who??" Poor kid.

He's only a couple years behind, but we're just glad he can do it! (Thanks Ryan!)
Now if we can just get tying the shoes down.

Our Little Artist

When Grammy was visiting last weekend she brought some water colors and had Aubree try them out. She of course loved them! She has recently shocked all of us "stick figure" artists by drawing a pretty darn good rendering of a horse. And improves daily with her cats, T-Rexs and fish. But her monkey and Ryan looks like the same person. (some days it is)

20/20 Vision

Karson went to the eye doctor to find out if his problems with reading could be his vision. Strangely enough, the doctor declared he had 20/20 vision! And his close up vision is especially good! Then proceeded to write Karson a perscription for glasses, which she called "readers". Hmmmm. Strange to anyone else? Being the good parent I am, I got him the glasses and when we brought them home. Me, Ryan and my mother all looked through them and pronounced Karson blind! How was this child functioning up to this point. It's all very strange. We're going to see how they help with school work and reading and then take another vote. But as usual, he looks very handsome!

Aubree tries out a little spanish

It was the first time the kids had ever gone sledding and they had both gone down the smaller hill a hundred times and loved it! So Ryan decides to try the big hill with a "small" bump at the end. He sends Aubree first, she flew and landed with snow up her nose and was furious and crying. At the top of the hill Karson was asking, "why is Aubree crying?" and Ryan smiled his evil smile and said "I have no idea, YOUR TURN." Of course it all ended in crying at the bottom of the hill where I waited and glared. Aubree called Ryan a "tonta" which I've been told means stupid in spanish and said she doesnt love Ryan as much as Mommy anymore.
All in all, the kids had a great time, you'll see from the happier pictures below.
Also, while in Boston, Grandpa Leo made Aubree an igloo from there every other day snow storm.

"Classy" Hotel Carpet

Thanks to the snow, we had a "little" leak problem in our kitchen. It's been a gaping 3 foot hole for about 3 weeks now. So Karson tonight said to me "Mom, I really hate the smell of that insillation in the ceiling." I was surprised he could smell anything, as none of the rest of us could. Then he said "it smells like classy hotel carpet." That's right, not just regular carpet or even cheap carpet, but "Classy" "Hotel" carpet!

And it's 2 Weeks Later!

I finally have had some time to post some Christmas pictures.
Karson got his commercial wet/dry vacuum that when he asked Santa for, Santa turned and looked at us like "did he just say what I think he said?"
He was equally excited about the filter for the pool vacuum, that he already knew how to install.
Aubree also received her request to Santa, a Strawberry Spaniel Furberry. It's a dog that smells like a strawberry and rolls up into the shape of a strawberry and unfolds into a dog.
Aubree also made her own wrapping paper by drawing a very realistic picture of a Christmas Tree and our family and then wrapped a little plastic case with a GI Joe guy in it. She tapped it up and put a bow on top. By far, this was my favorite gift this year!
