There will be blood!

So when Karson was about 3 years old, he came into my room in the middle of the night and stood next to my bed not saying anything, which is creepy and he still does it.
Anyway, I opened my eyes and his entire face and shirt were covered in blood!!
To say the least I was completely freaked out and jumped out of bed only to find out it was merely a bloody nose.
He did have a trail of blood drops and blood all over his pillow case. It was like a massacre!
Since then, Karson has always been easily prone to nose bleeds and I have perfected the art of how to deal with them quickly and efficiently.

Fast forward to Wednesday, I receive a phone call from Karson's school reporting that the school nurse was not in and Karson had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop.
So I gave them some quick instructions and sent Ryan to pick him up.
When Ryan got there, he said there was blood all over the floor all over Karson's arms and shirt. And the non-nurse that completely ignored my advise said "it's been bleeding for an hour now, he may need to go to the hospital".
This put Karson into a panic until Ryan calmed him down and then was able to stop it in a matter of minutes.
Poor Karson. He did get to go home early and watch "Billy the Exterminator" his new favorite show, so I think it turned out ok.

Better then the Grand Canyon

Ryan and I had the pleasure of joining our friends Jeff and Serena at a friends cabin at Duck Creek in Cedar City over the 4th of July.
We went to a Shakespeare play in the main town, "MacBeth" on our first night. We got to watch it in the authentic Shakespearen Theatre outside and it was wonderful! We all loved it!
The next day we went to Cedar Breaks National Park.
I had been there a couple times before, but it was the first time for the others.
It is so beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice! We are still waiting on the pictures from Serena of the giant chipmunks that Ryan fed his leftover steak to.

Hot-ish

When I moved to Las Vegas 15 years ago I learned a very important lesson of living here.
IT'S HOT!
It's the desert! The wind blows like a hot blow dryer melting your mascara on your actual eyelashes, pretty much every day.
Now, I understand you east-coasters have recently experienced a bit of a "heat wave", but I'd like to share with everyone our back yard thermometer.
Everyone who lives east of Colorado, you can subtract 10 degrees for our lack of humidity, but I think it's obvious we clearly are still the winners.

Yes, that does say 110, and yes it IS in the SHADE!

On another completely seperate, but equally as important note,
Aubree has finally grown some front teeth!
(note her lovely new lizard necklace, the actual subject of the photo)
